Nigella Lawson has shared a sweet tribute to ex-husband John Diamond, on the 20-year anniversary of her first book, How To Eat.
John – who had two children with the TV chef – died in 2001, four years after being diagnosed with throat cancer.
And, sharing a snap of the pair at a party, the 58-year-old revealed she wished she could ‘be in his arms’ once more.
‘This time 20 years ago, I was at the launch party for my first book, How To Eat,’ she wrote alongside the photo.
‘Looking at this photo makes me happy, but also very sad. I wish I could be in John’s arms now.’
She also dedicated a ‘recipe of the day’ post to her late husband, giving fans the opportunity to recreate one of his favourite dishes.
‘Although the @vintagebooks Vintage Classic edition of #HowToEat comes out next Thursday, today marks the actual 20th anniversary of its original publication and to celebrate it, this Apple and Walnut Crumble from the book is #RecipeOfTheDay,’ the Simply Nigella star added.
‘And by the way, I’ve chosen this in particular as it was a real favourite of my husband John’s.
‘And How To Eat would never have existed without his urging and encouragement in the first place.’
Nigella and John first met back in 1986, as they worked alongside each other at The Sunday Times.
The couple tied the knot six years later, and share daughter Cosima and son Bruno together.
John later died in 2001, following a battle with throat cancer, at the age of 47.
Following his death, the chef married Charles Saatchi, but they divorced in 2013, following a 10-year marriage.
