When 2020 opened with former cabinet minister disguised as an Egyptian Pharoah belting out The Bangles, it seemed unlikely television in 2020 would get more WTF than that.
Oh.
In the year that dragged on longer than The Walking Dead, when life was more surreal than anyone would have expected, television was suitably bizarre too.
From desperate politicians proving they had even less talent than anyone thought humanly possible on The Masked Singer or Strictly Come Dancing to the inevitable live TV nightmares only made more catastrophic by a global pandemic, the past 12 months has gone from one jaw-dropping moment to the next.
Some have been side-splittingly hysterical and will be rightfully etched in our memories for years to come; others can gladly be left behind in the year we’d all rather forget.
