Normally to exfoliate your skin, you would use an exfoliating scrub or sponge, or something fancy from Lush that’s filled with natural seaweed and coconut oil.
But not Nigella Lawson.
No, the 58-year-old appears to have come up with her own ingenious way of exfoliating, and it sounds, well, very… Nigella.
Talking about her biggest beauty hack, the mother-of-two revealed that her trick to getting silky smooth skin is by using Marigolds.
While chatting to her fans at a Q&A session in London, The Sun reported her saying: ‘I am the sucker who buys things.
‘I recently bought some washing up gloves with silicone bits on the palm for scrubbing. I exfoliate with them. I like them.’
We get where she is coming from, but we think we’d much prefer to use a sponge!
The star then went on to talk about her guilty pleasures and how she does not allow herself to feel guilty about any of them.
Another life hack we should all be getting on board with.
She said: ‘You should not have any guilt about pleasure. You should only ever feel guilt if you don’t take pleasure.
‘In certain moments I do like a bit of plastic bread with a cheese triangle on. That can be delicious.
‘I like old fashioned sweets like rhubarb and custard sweets. The other day I did have a great need for some Milky Ways.’
We’ve all been there.
Just recently the TV chef has opened up about her views on healthy eating, and told a group of catering students in Toronto that people had become ‘a bit extreme’ with their eating habits.
‘A lot of so-called healthy eating is a cover-up for an eating disorder and I think people persecute themselves to what they do eat and what they don’t eat,’ she said.
She then revealed that some of her friends wouldn’t allow themselves to eat certain treats, only to binge on them later.
Cutting out entire food groups, she said, ‘doesn’t seem to make sense’.
‘You should eat a bit of everything,’ Nigella concluded.
