Nigella Lawson thinks The Great British Bake Off is ‘too complicated’ and insists she wouldn’t get past the audition stage.
The TV chef insisted that she’s purely a ‘home cook’ and she’s not skilled enough for the BBC One show.
She said: ‘I wouldn’t get on Bake Off, it’s too complicated. I like baking in a homespun kind of way – if I make cookies, I don’t expect them all… Read the full story
Nigella Lawson is back with her new show Simply Nigella, and people are complaining about it one episode in.
Kitchen queen Nigella returned to the BBC with a new show, giving us ‘recipes that relax and restore, uplift and enrich’.
‘I believe with all my heart that what and how we cook can make us feel better’ she said.
While viewers were happy to see her back on our screens, her avocado toast recipe got a lot of people’s backs up.
Essentially it was avocado mashed together with dill, lime juice, chili flakes, ginger and salt, on top of spelt bread (which honestly sounds divine to us).
Simply Nigella’s new take on the Caesar salad, simply didn’t go down will with her viewers.
People watching the third episode of her BBC cookery show where left dumbfounded at the recipe for what they perceived as simply baked lettuce with an egg on top.
Of course, the audience took to Twitter to share their disbelief at a dish that doesn’t seem like it needs be in a cook book, let a long demonstrated on prime-time telly.
Avocados on toast last week. Fried egg on lettuce this week. Can we all agree that Nigella… Read the full story
In her BBC Christmas special Simply Nigella, the famous cook travelled to Kansas City to find her festive spirit and while there was inspired to have a go at the Christmas tradition of making a bundt cake.
Apparently one of the easier cakes to make, the cook attempted three different sorts and implored viewers to have a go because of their easiness to make.
‘It’s just a case of mixing dry ingredients into wet ingredients,’ she told viewers as she makes three of the ridiculously gorgeous looking bundt cakes.
While none would dispute Nigella Lawson’s expertise in the kitchen, it seems her television production company has been overdone.
The buxom 56-year-old TV chef has placed her production company, Pabulum Productions, into ‘voluntary liquidation’.
The announcement follows news that Nigella’s TV show The Taste was axed in America after three seasons, and her most recent BBC show, Simply Nigella, was mocked by fans.
According to MailOnline, the TV star will pocket £2,244,987 once her debts and tax bills are settled – which sounds like a pretty tasty bonus to us.
Rarely seen in public, Cosima Diamond was checking out The Wipers Times at The Arts Theatre with Nigella on Monday night when the moment happened in a taxi.
The mum and daughter were dressed similarly in black coats and jeans, which strongly highlighted their physical resemblance.
Nigella seemed more at ease with the situation while Mimi… Read the full story
When Gordon Ramsay confirmed his kids wouldn’t see a single cent from his estimated £40 million fortune, an audible wail of despair may very well have been heard from the Ramsay household.
Things went a bit sour ion Saturday Kitchen as Nigella Lawson viewers how to make her Tiramisini – only for her recipe to suffer a bit of a subtitle fail.
Sure, she has an account herself but her’s is what’s you’d expect – pictures of her deliciously seductive recipes along with the odd book plug or candid lifestyle shot.
But her issue is with heavily constructed, unattainable, ultra-colourful dishes and cakes which would take a genius to know how to cut, let alone eat.
You know it’s Christmas when the festive food programmes start on television – and none more so that Nigella Lawson‘s BBC special Nigella’s Christmas Table.
But people couldn’t really concentrate on the delicious food she was making, because they were so distracted by its high salt content.
Yes, for Christmas this year Nigella’s giving everyone high blood pressure.
For years Nigella Lawson has been at the centre of jokes and lols toward the apparent sexual innuendo in her cooking videos.
Really, she’s just sexing up cooking and perhaps we all need a little nudge to get into the kitchen from the one and only Nigella.
When appearing on Australian news program The Project this week, though, the 58-year-old seemed a little dumbfounded by the attention placed on what she has said in her cook videos.
And, well, it made for quite the heated interview.
Nigella Lawson has been snapped living her best life while channelling a bit of Madonna with her fingerless gloves while relaxing on a beach in Auckland.
The star appeared to be spending the day out with a small group of friends, and while they shaded themselves with sunglasses, the celebrity chef opted to block out the sun with a black umbrella.
Despite the weather being hot, the 58-year-old rocked an 80s Madonna style with black finger-less gloves and a knee length pin striped skirt from Zara.
She’s known for covering up on the beach as back in 2011 Nigella… Read the full story
Nigella Lawson, queen of buttery sauces and spatula-licking puds, has warned that healthy eating ‘fads’ might be disguising eating disorders.
She told a group of catering students at a college in Toronto that people had become ‘a bit extreme’ with their eating habits.
‘A lot of so-called healthy eating is a cover-up for an eating disorder and I think people persecute themselves to what they do eat and what they don’t eat,’ she said.
The TV chef when on to dismiss the ‘mumbo jumbo’ spoken about diets today and described how many of her friends deny themselves certain treats, only to binge on them later.
Cutting out entire food groups, she said, ‘doesn’t seem to make sense’.
‘You should eat a bit of everything,’ Nigella concluded.
It’s not the first time that Nigella has spoken out about ‘clean eating’ either.
She said a similar thing back in 2015, when she told audiences at a JW3 Speaker Series event that people subscribed certain ultra-healthy’ diets were ‘a way to hide an eating disorder or a great sense of unhappiness with their own body’.
And Nigella has a point, obviously.
Cutting out entire food groups is miserable and counterproductive; how many people do you know treat carbs like poison…only to binge on them in a moment of perceived weakness?
But we should be careful of dismissing genuinely healthy eating habits as disordered dietary patterns. There’s a difference between eating a whole foods diet – one packed with real, wholegrain, unrefined foods – and one which demonises certain foods or ways of eating.
The interesting thing is that our terminology seems to have changed a bit around this subject.
A few years ago, Nigella lambasted the term ‘clean eating’, claiming that implied that ‘any other form of eating is dirty or shameful’. Today, she criticises ‘healthy eating’.
So does that mean that all these influencers and brands who promoted ‘clean’ living have cottoned onto the bad PR and simply re-branded – hijacking a perfectly innocent and worthy term? Or does Nigella genuinely take offence at the prospect of people trying to eat in a way that benefits their health?
Nigella Lawson has shared a sweet tribute to ex-husband John Diamond, on the 20-year anniversary of her first book, How To Eat.
John – who had two children with the TV chef – died in 2001, four years after being diagnosed with throat cancer.
And, sharing a snap of the pair at a party, the 58-year-old revealed she wished she could ‘be in his arms’ once more.
‘This time 20 years ago, I was at the launch party for my first book, How To Eat,’ she wrote alongside the photo.

‘Looking at this photo makes me happy, but also very sad. I wish I could be in John’s arms now.’
She also dedicated a ‘recipe of the day’ post to her late husband, giving fans the opportunity to recreate one of his favourite dishes.
‘Although the @vintagebooks Vintage Classic edition of #HowToEat comes out next Thursday, today marks the actual 20th anniversary of its original publication and to celebrate it, this Apple and Walnut Crumble from the book is #RecipeOfTheDay,’ the Simply Nigella star added.
‘And by the way, I’ve chosen this in particular as it was a real favourite of my husband John’s.
‘And How To Eat would never have existed without his urging and encouragement in the first place.’
Nigella and John first met back in 1986, as they worked alongside each other at The Sunday Times.
The couple tied the knot six years later, and share daughter Cosima and son Bruno together.
John later died in 2001, following a battle with throat cancer, at the age of 47.
Following his death, the chef married Charles Saatchi, but they divorced in 2013, following a 10-year marriage.

Normally to exfoliate your skin, you would use an exfoliating scrub or sponge, or something fancy from Lush that’s filled with natural seaweed and coconut oil.
But not Nigella Lawson.
No, the 58-year-old appears to have come up with her own ingenious way of exfoliating, and it sounds, well, very… Nigella.
Talking about her biggest beauty hack, the mother-of-two revealed that her trick to getting silky smooth skin is by using Marigolds.
While chatting to her fans at a Q&A session in London, The Sun reported her saying: ‘I am the sucker who buys things.
‘I recently bought some washing up gloves with silicone bits on the palm for scrubbing. I exfoliate with them. I like them.’
We get where she is coming from, but we think we’d much prefer to use a sponge!
The star then went on to talk about her guilty pleasures and how she does not allow herself to feel guilty about any of them.
Another life hack we should all be getting on board with.
She said: ‘You should not have any guilt about pleasure. You should only ever feel guilt if you don’t take pleasure.
‘In certain moments I do like a bit of plastic bread with a cheese triangle on. That can be delicious.
‘I like old fashioned sweets like rhubarb and custard sweets. The other day I did have a great need for some Milky Ways.’
We’ve all been there.
Just recently the TV chef has opened up about her views on healthy eating, and told a group of catering students in Toronto that people had become ‘a bit extreme’ with their eating habits.

Nigella Lawson has revealed she has had to tell TV bosses in the United States not to airbrush her stomach.
The 58-year-old has cultivated her entire career on the love of food, but it turns out that some people want her to look like she doesn’t eat.
Nigella called out the ‘hatred of fat’ while replying to a tweet from Jameela Jamil.
The chef and food writer wrote: ‘I’ve had to tell American tv stations not to airbrush my sticking out stomach.
I’ve had to tell American tv stations not to airbrush my sticking out stomach. The hatred of fat, and assumption that we’d all be grateful to be airbrushed thinner is pernicious.
‘The hatred of fat, and assumption that we’d all be grateful to be airbrushed thinner is pernicious.’
Nigella’s revelation was met with shock from fans, who seemed baffled as to why anyone would want to Photoshop the TV star.
The mother-of-two had responded to a post by Jameela, with The Good Place star calling out a journalist who wrote an article reading: ‘Women shouldn’t be told how to appear, whether it’s a glossy magazine persuading us to slim down or Jameela Jamil beseeching us to look uglier for the benefit of society.’
Jameela, 32, tweeted: ‘She thinks you’re “UGLY” just as you are. She also doesn’t understand that a huge part of why I hate photoshop is how it’s used as a tool of erasure of ethnicities, our skin colour, our features. This is embarrassing white privilege and deep misogyny.
‘Don’t ever use the word “ugly” about anyone ever again. I don’t care how “respectful” you are towards me. I’m interested in how respectful you are to women. You don’t understand ethnic erasure because women who look like you have been the standard of beauty forever.
‘For the last time, airbrushing is used as a tool for ethnicity erasure, colourism, ageism, fat-phobia, ableism, racism and sexism. It’s there to make you hate your real face and body. It made me hate my face, my body and my ethnicity for the longest time as a young woman.’
