Nigella Lawson was the latest iconic star to be imitated on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’s Snatch Game episode and gave her verdict after giving Ella Vaday’s portrayal a watch.
The Snatch Game instalment is a highlight of the series and something fans look forward to in all the franchises.
Season three of Drag Race UK hosted the episode last week, which featured impersonations such as Gemma Collins, Amy Childs and Nigella from the queens.
Ella, who was in character as the legendary TV cook and food writer, even caught the attention of the woman herself.
All fans wanted to know was whether Nigella had seen the fabulous take on herself and it turns out, she has!
The Drag Race UK official account asked: ‘Please tell us you’ve seen @ellavaday ‘s snatch game @Nigella_Lawson. #DragRaceUK.’
Nigella soon wrote back: ‘I have and Ella was fab!’
Responding to another fan, she added: ‘I have now caught up with it and have nothing but admiration for the divine Ella! Have a great weekend, yourself!’
One other fan, who explained how ‘nervous’ she was for Ella’s take on the star, also got a response from Nigella.
The TV favourite wrote back: ‘*You* were nervous!! Imagine how I felt before watching it! But impossible not to be charmed by the fabulous Ella.’
Ella even paid homage to Nigella’s infamous ‘meecro-wah-vey’ moment during the segment, which was previously nominated for a Bafta for the must-see moment of the year.
Fans were also impressed with the take on culinary royalty with one sharing on Twitter: ‘Ella as Nigella Lawson, that’s it that’s the tweet #DragRaceUK.’
‘Ella Vaday gave me the Nigella I wanted and she should’ve won the reading challenge as well. #DragRaceUK,’ shared another.
Another commented: ‘Waiting for and then reading Nigella’s reactions to Snatch Game are the most invested I’ve ever been in Twitter #DragRaceUK.’
One fan echoed: ‘Ella Vaday as Nigella Lawson is making me feel a lot of things #DragRaceUK.’
The episode grew even more tense after the excitement of Snatch Game calmed down, with Ru sneaking a double elimination in.
Unfortunately, it was Chorizo May and River Medway who were told to ‘sashay away,’ – but who will end up becoming the UK’s next Drag Race Superstar?
Drag Race UK airs Thursdays from 7pm on BBC iPlayer.
