Nigella Lawson has revealed she loves a late-night chip kebab, offering up her perfect recipe to fans whilst appearing on TV in Australia.
The much-loved cook is quite the national treasure and even received a Bafta nomination for must-see moment last year.
She went viral after warming up milk in her ‘mee-cro-wah-vay’, for a mash potato dish in 2020 in the series Cook, Eat, Repeat.
Fans became obsessed with the moment and now Nigella has shown us she’s still the most relatable TV cook as she shared her love of chip kebabs.
Currently in Australia to attend the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, she appeared on the talk show The Project to chat about all things food.
Nigella was asked by host Carrie Bickmore: ‘Nigella, are you a hot chips lady or a kebab lady?’
‘Well, I rather like a chip kebab,’ she responded, before telling viewers how to achieve perfection with theirs.
‘One of my favourites is flatbread, humous, a bit of lemon zest, chips, some lemon juice and salt and wrap it up.
‘Now, that is so good. So wonderful,’ she added.
Carrie replied: ‘Yum, I want one now,’ with Nigella joking: ‘Why haven’t you got one?!’
Nigella has been appearing on MasterChef Australia in recent years and often spends time Down Under.
She joined the eighth series of the show as a guest judge, alongside the returning judges, before returning to the show for the tenth series in 2018 and the eleventh series in 2019.
During the chat, she addressed her famous mee-cro-wah-vay moment when asked if she had any more fun words she uses around the house.
Nigella shared: ‘I have other words I use, you know how all families have those words.
‘If I get some new appliance I have to read the destructions… if I’m going to meet someone, I have to text them to say I’m en-croute.’
She revealed she ‘wasn’t even aware I’d said that out loud’ and explained: ‘I would say that at home, when I did it, it’s just a joke, mispronouncing words.
‘You can end up speaking in a language that is a bit of a bonkers side!
‘That was filmed in a brief window in lockdown so I can’t be held accountable for the state of my mind then,’ Nigella laughed.
